Number of tourists visiting Turkey surpasses figures of last year

A total of 21,765,000 foreign tourists visited Turkey in the first eight months of 2012.
In a written statement released on Tuesday, the Union of Touristic Hotels and Facilities of the Mediterranean (AKTOB) said that, in the first eight months of 2011, a total of 21,701,000 foreign tourists had visited Turkey.
German tourists topped the list of foreign tourists visiting Turkey in 2012 with a figure of 3.3 million while Russians ranked second with a figure of 2.6 million.
