DIYARBAKIR, Turkey

A total of 20 customs officials, kidnapped by PKK terrorists at the end of August in the eastern Van and southeastern Hakkari provinces, have arrived in Turkey after they were released, Sirnak province's Silopi local governor said Tuesday.

"Twenty customs officials were released near the northern Iraqi city of Dohuk," head of Turkish Human Rights Association Ozturk Turkdogan told Anadolu Agency.

Silopi Local Governor Savas Konak welcomed the customs officials, including one driver, at Habur border gate, after they arrived in Turkey.

The customs officials went through a medical examination and later talked with their families over the phone.
