Turkish auto workers rekindle strike action

ANKARA

Ford Otosan auto workers at the company’s plant in northwestern Turkey’s Eskisehir province went on strike on Monday.

Last week, workers at the firm’s factories in Golcuk and Yenikoy took action over pay and conditions. They were joined by strikers from Tofas and Oyak Renault carmakers.

The strikers were also protesting against the Turkish Metal Labor Union, which the workers claimed was not representing them.

The workers at the truck manufacturing plant in Eskisehir gathered three hours after starting work.
