Eleven people have been killed and 34 injured after high-voltage electric wires fell on a passenger bus in southern Pakistan Sunday morning, police said.

All eleven died of severe burn injuries as the ill-fated bus caught fire after 11,000-volt wires landed on it in the remote Dadu district of southern Sindh province, Irfan Baluch, a city police official told reporters.

Authorities apprehend a rise in death toll as most of injured suffer from serious burn wounds.

Doctors said several injured were brought to hospital with 40 to 50 percent burns over their bodies.
