British band Fink to perform for the first time in Turkey

Turkey’s cultural capital is ready to host British singer, songwriter and guitarist Fin Greenall and his band Fink on Feb. 1st at Babylon.

Well-known for the 2007 song "This is the Thing" and their 2011 album "Perfect Darkness", Fink will take to the stage backed by a new album entitled "Hard Believer" which was released in March 2014.

The Istanbul performance will be the first concert in the city by the trio which is currently based in Berlin and London.

Istanbul to host Danish indie rock duo

Copenhagen-based indie rock band, The Raveonettes, will perform a unique show at Istanbul’s Salon IKSV concert hall on Jan. 31.

The duo, consisting of Sune Rose Wagner on guitar and vocals, and Sharin Foo on bass, guitar and vocals, was founded in 2001 and have released seven albums in their career.

Having dark lyrical content about hate, suicide, drugs and betrayal, the band has been applauded many times for being a “harbinger" of contemporary music.

Iranian singer to perform in Turkey

Hailed as “Iran’s Bob Dylan,” Mohsen Namjoo will perform before his Turkish fans for the first time in Istanbul.

The 39-year-old singer and songwriter will participate in the sixth Avea Concert Series at Istanbul’s Congress Center on Jan. 30.

The California-based artist is known for mixing classical Iranian music and literature with jazz and rock.

Also a setar -- traditional lute -- player, Namjoo began his musical training when he was 12 years old. He later studied theatre and music at Tehran University.

Known by the Turkish audience for his songs "Nobahari" and "Ey Sareban," his latest album "Trust the Tangerine Peel" was released in May 2014 by Daf-Daf Production.

American film Seventh Son to hit Turkish theatres

The American thriller "Seventh Son" hits Turkish theatres on Jan. 30.

Starring American actors Julianne Moore and Jeff Bridges, the film is directed by Russian filmmaker Sergey Bodrov from a screenplay by Charles Leavitt and Steve Knight, based on the book series "The Last Apprentice" by Joseph Delaney.

The movie tells the adventure of a young boy named Thomas, who is taught by a local “Spook” to learn to fight evil spirits.
