Majority of the newspapers dedicated on Tuesday their front pages to the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's approval of the election Sunday of government-backed members of the judiciary to the Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK).

“They [judges and prosecutors] protected professional dignity,” is the headline in SABAH.

“They’ve given the necessary response to those, who tried to capture the judiciary,” said Erdogan referring to the followers of U.S.-based Islamic scholar Fethullah Gulen, who has been accused of controlling Turkey’s top judicial body.

“Judges and prosecutors said “no” to an ideological understanding of the judiciary,” the Turkish Minister of Justice, Bekir Bozdag, had said following the announcement of the results. "They protected our democracy, rule of law and pluralism," the minister added.

AKSAM runs Prime Minister Davutoglu’s remarks on the election saying, “The first comment from the top of the government has come.” The paper cites Davutoglu as saying, “judiciary workers did give the best message with their independent will.”

HABERTURK reports that coalition jets bombed Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIL, in eastern Kobane early Monday. A Kurdish commander and US citizen were also among the killed ISIL militants, the paper said.

ISIL launched its offensive on Kobani – the key Kurdish-populated Syrian town close to Turkey – in mid-September. The group has captured some of Kobani's surrounding villages and heavy fighting for control of the strategic town continues.

“Coalition forces target ISIL positions near Kobane again,” is HURRIYET's front page headline, running a photo released by ISIL -- showing their training allegedly in northern Iraqi region of Ninova.

Sunday’s army helicopter crash in the northwestern province of Kocaeli was another news item that the newspapers focused on.

SABAH says “Fog hides wreckage of helicopter,” reporting that the wreckage was able to be found after nine hours because of the fog around Kartepe district and bodies of the soldiers were able to be removed early morning.

HURRIYET goes with; “Copter hits hillside, divided into four.” The daily reports that the helicopter hit the hillside because of dense fog 7 minutes after its take off. There will be a funeral ceremony for the soldiers in Kocaeli province, the paper adds.

Four soldiers were killed in the crash as the S-70B Sikorsky aircraft, which took off from the Cengiz Topel Military Airport in Kocaeli, disappeared from radar after it lost connection with its base.
