KABUL (AA) - A bomb attack on Monday killed two civilians and left two others wounded in Uruzgan province of Afghanistan.

Explosion took place just as a civilian car passed by, police spokesman Farid Ayel told Anadolu Agency.

The bomb was planted by Taliban militants, spokesman said adding the causalities were all workers.

On the other hand, a Taliban commander as well as two bodyguards were killed in an air attack on Monday night, said the spokesperson of the office of Wardak governor Ataullah Hugyanay.

The Taliban, who ruled Afghanistan between 1996 and 2001 before being ousted by US-led forces, have recently stepped up their attacks on government and foreign force and their facilities.

The foreign forces are scheduled to withdraw from Afghanistan by the end of 2014.
