KAYSERI

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday said during a Justice and Development (AK) Party's rally called "Respect to National Will" in Kayseri, "Taksim Square is not a place for demonstrations. Gezi Park is not the property of occupying groups. Total damage reached 200 million liras."

Erdogan underlined that those who provoked Taksim Gezi Park protests as they couldn't digest democracy and results of elections, called vandals' burning and destroying 'Turkish spring' but Turkish spring began (with general elections) on November 3, 2002.

Erdogan mentioned that there was no project which destroyed green areas in Taksim Gezi Park but they wanted to build a city museum in the area and noted, "Sovereignty absolutely belongs to the nation in this country. We won't say 'ok' to minorities' dominance over majority".

Erdogan underlined, "those who provoke the incidents use Taksim Gezi Park as their pretext. Their real target is to destroy Turkey's economy and democracy".

Erdogan noted that their Alawite brothers and sisters should not get deceived by those plays and plots and underlined, "These rallies are the beginning of election campaigns for March (2014) local elections".

Erdogan added, "Next Wednesday we will hold our final meeting with 'wise men'. They are preparing their reports (on solution process)".
