The 2nd Russian Energy Forum: Finance and Investment, sponsored by Turkey's Anadolu Agency, will begin in London on Tuesday.

The forum, hosted by the London-based conference and event organizer Eurasian Dynamics, will be attended by high-level executives from energy companies, as well as representatives from the private sector and of governments.

The Russian energy sector's future under the current western sanctions, its financial environment, risks and opportunities in the medium- and long-term in the country are going to be some of the topics to be discussed at the conference.

In addition, the forum will discuss the increasing energy sector exchanges between Russia and China, and the Turkish Stream project that plans to carry Russian natural gas to Greece through Turkey's northwestern Thrace region.

Professor Keun-Wook Paik, Senior Research Fellow for the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, commented that last year's first conference "attracted senior decision makers in the energy industry and finance, and offered a unique opportunity to broaden the horizon."

"The core discussion on EU-Russia-China energy sector exchanges reflected the highest priority of the ongoing negotiations between the parties to secure further deals that can have a colossal impact on the whole Eurasian region’s energy security and flows," he said in a press release of the event.

Executives from the Russian oil company Lukoil and natural gas firms Gazprom and Novatek are expected to attend the forum, in addition to international oil companies Royal Dutch Shell, Eni and Total.

Swiss-based global financial services company UBS, global banking and investment institutions Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, HSCB, ING and Russian bank Sberbank are also expected to follow the conference at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in London.
