Photographs of the Ezidi ‘death walk’ to Turkey were carried in global newspapers

ANKARA 

Haunting images of Ezidis on the ‘death walk’ from Iraq to Turkey taken by Anadolu Agency photographer Emrah Yorulmaz have appeared in media around the world.

Paris Match, France’s leading photojournalism magazine, published a double page spread of Yorulmaz’s photos taken around Sinjar as Ezidis fled ISIL militants to take refuge in the mountains.

Le Monde de la Photo also used Yorulmaz’s pictures from northern Iraq.

British newspaper The Independent carried images of Ezidis fleeing to Turkey by Yorulmaz and Orhan Cicek, Anadolu’s Gaziantep-based photographers.

To boost its already extensive archive and compete with other news organizations to produce agenda-defining images, the agency has hired a string of talented photojournalists in India, Indonesia, Brazil, Venezuela and Thailand, among others.

Thanks to an agreement with Getty Images, AFP ImageForum, DPA, Scanpix, Contacto and VI Images, Anadolu is boasts a broad global coverage.

The agency offering newswires in seven languages with operations across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Asia-Pacific and serves business customers in more than 100 countries.
