ISTANBUL

Turkey's Anadolu Agency continues to reveal, through a website, the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, in which 2028 Palestinians have been killed so far by Israeli forces since hostilities began in the first week of July.

The website, named "gazasurvey.com," provides daily updates in English on the number of casualties in the Gaza Strip caused by Israeli air and ground offensives, based on information obtained by the AA Gaza Office from official sources.

The website includes data on the dead and wounded split into three categories : women, men and children. The website also keeps track of the number of houses, mosques, schools and hospitals that have been hit during the Israeli army's "Operation Protective Edge."

The site was designed by AA's own software team.

The use of English is intentional in order to call on the international community to be more responsive towards the Israeli aggression on Gaza.

Israel claims it has pulled its delegation from Cairo negotiations for a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip after rockets were fired from Gaza into different areas of Israel on Tuesday.

The Israeli army then launched several strikes on the besieged coastal enclave, which is home to some 1.8 million Palestinians.

Hamas, for its part, has denied any knowledge of Tuesday's alleged rocket attacks, accusing Israel of seeking to undermine indirect ceasefire talks.

Since early August, Cairo has hosted indirect Palestinian-Israeli talks aimed at hammering out a permanent ceasefire arrangement.

Since 2007, the Gaza Strip has reeled under a crippling Israeli blockade that has badly affected the local economy and created havoc in the lives of residents.
