Turkish Airlines launches flights to Sicily

ISTANBUL 

Turkey’s flagship carrier, Turkish Airlines, began non-stop service from Istanbul to the city of Catania in Sicily on Friday, launching the eighth flight destination to Italy.

The flight will be offered four days a week -- on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, -- the company said in a written statement.

Turkish Airlines previously launched flights to Rome, Milan, Venice, Bologna, Genoa, Naples and Turin in Italy.

The carrier earlier announced that it would begin non-stop service to the Italian city of Pisa beginning from June 26.

Turkish Airlines today has 45 domestic flight routes and more than 200 flight legs to international destinations. The company launches flights to 249 cities and 252 airports in 106 countries across the world. 

Having one of the youngest fleets in Europe, the company has a total of 249 airplanes including nine cargo planes.
