War Journalism Training program, held in order to train correspondents who can work during wars, disasters, and emergencies, has been completed by 24 trainees, of which 10 from AA, and 14 journalists from Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Algeria, Palestine, and Libya.

The certificate ceremony for the training was held at the Presidential Conference Hall of the Police Academy's Gölbaşı Campus.

Speaking at the ceremony, AA Academy Manager Zeynep Bayramoğlu Öztürk congratulated the trainees who successfully completed their training. Thanking the supporting institutions, Öztürk said:

"As AA Academy, we have been conducting training activities since 2012, and we have provided training to 16,009 people in 382 programs. We will continue to increase this number. I hope our cooperation with both TIKA and the Police Academy will remain permanent. I also have a wish for my fellow journalists: I hope you will never have to use what you learned here, but unfortunately, the realities of the world are very harsh. Dreaming of a world without war may be very far away. I hope what you have learned has raised your awareness and will help you survive in possible dangerous situations."

Uğur Tanyeli, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations and Partnerships at TİKA, also stated that the training program, which was the closest to real war and conflict conditions, had been successfully completed, saying:

"Our wish is that you do not use what you have learned and the training you have received in your professional lives. Unfortunately, this is a reality of the working conditions of press workers. Wars, crises, and disasters never end in the world, and one of the first victims of these disasters and crises is our press members, who share these wars and crises with the world, raise awareness, and have the function of preventing these wars. That is why I hope this training brings you good results."

“The voices of those suffering oppression will be heard louder.”

Fatih İnal, Vice President of the Police Academy, stated that in every program, they envision a world without war and where children do not die.

Inal, emphasizing that unfortunately there is war, tears, and blood in the world, said:

"While we hold this ceremony, hundreds of children, women, and people living in tents in Gaza, unarmed and unprotected, are losing their lives not only to weapons and bombs, but unfortunately also to genocide, starvation, and thirst. I condemn those who inflict this cruelty on children, women, and innocent people. You are the voice of justice and truth. As long as your pens write the truth, as long as your cameras show the truth, as long as every frame you capture shows the truth, the voice of the oppressed, the voice of those suffering from cruelty, will be heard louder. The world will become a more livable place. The number of people with conscience and responsibility will increase."

At the ceremony, trainees Semih Erdoğdu and Hasan Kello also gave thank-you speeches.

Following the speeches, certificates were awarded to the 24 trainees who successfully completed the training.
