The Anadolu Agency News Academy was established on December 23, 2011, upon the decision of the Board of Directors of AA. It started its first training on February 6, 2012.
The Anadolu Agency News Academy provides practical and systematic training involving the change experienced in the media, the developments in social media, and enabling effective use of technology. Our objective is to ensure that the people who work or want to work in the media sector possess the knowledge and skills of analytical thinking, problem solving, effective communication, news writing techniques, and video and photo shooting in the field of journalism. It also benefits from all the new emerging formations in this field by cooperating with all the national and international agencies and institutions operating in the field of media with this understanding and providing of journalism training.
The “master/apprentice” doctrine which is increasingly being put aside in the profession of journalism is revived with the practical training at the Academy. Master journalists of Anadolu Agency serve as the “professional coaches” of the trainees. By incorporating practices in the training programs, each trainee is enabled to write news and interviews, develop his/her special news reflex, shoot and process photos and videos. Every product of a trainee is tracked, measured and evaluated in this training.
