Working together, Turkey’s top news provider Anadolu Agency and the Turkish state aid agency have provided training programs for over 600 members of the media, from both Turkey and abroad, an official said on Saturday.

"We have had very fruitful cooperation with Anadolu Agency for many years, especially in the field of media training,” said Serkan Kayalar, head of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA).

“So far we have provided training for over 600 members of the news media through Anadolu Agency."

He added: "This year, the pandemic affected the whole world, but we continued our training programs without pause."

Kayalar said that as part of the cooperation between TIKA and the agency since 2017, they provided training to members of the media from around the world in various fields, adding that over 300 members of the media took 10 training programs held last year.

On a diplomacy journalism training program set to be held on Feb. 23-25, he said that journalists from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Bosnia Herzegovina would take part in this training.

"We aim to meet thousands of members of the media from all over the world in the coming days," he underlined.

Since 2017, Anadolu Agency and TIKA have offered training courses in various fields, including defense journalism, humanitarian journalism, and data journalism.

Programs such as energy journalism, next generation journalism, and news crisis management are set to be held this year.
