In the forum organized by the Libyan National Unity Government, the Ministry of Communications and Political Affairs, many international media executives, experts, journalists and educators began sharing experiences with Libyan media members and communication faculty students in workshops, seminars and discussion sessions.
At the opening of the forum, Libyan Minister of State for Communications and Political Affairs Walid al-Lafi addressed the development of media in the digital age in a session titled "Digital Transformation in Media: Today's Reality and Future Visions".

Western media sees Gaza with half an eye
Lafi, who touched on the challenges faced by media institutions and the use of technology in delivering information professionally, quickly and accurately, said, "We are now in an open era, but governments continue to maintain a backward traditional media understanding."
The head of the Libyan National Media Organization, Abdel-Rezzak al-Dahish, stated that the Western media always distorts events, and said, "The media is the art of seeking the truth, but they (the Western media) see Gaza with half an eye, they are massacring this truth, even tearing it to pieces."

AA shares experience with workshops
AA Global News Director Faruk Tokat also attended the opening of the forum, which started today and will continue until December 24.
As part of the event, AA Checkline Manager Ömer Faruk Görçin shared his experience with his Libyan colleagues in a workshop themed "Methods for Protection from Disinformation in the Digital Age."

In tomorrow's session of the forum, AA News Academy Director Zeynep Bayramoğlu Öztürk will give a presentation in the workshop themed "Basic Principles of Journalism".
AA Cyber Security Director Murathan Ok will share his experiences in the workshop titled "Cyber Security for Individuals", while AA Ankara News Deputy Director Mehmet Yılmaz Güldaş will share his experiences in the workshop themed "Special Reporting".
In addition, experts from TRT Arabic will give lessons to journalist candidates and Libyans interested in the media as part of the workshops at the forum.
