During the training at the workshop, Eda Ünlü Özen, AA Black Sea News Deputy Manager, and Chief Correspondent Nusret Bilen provided insights into news analysis. Sharing her professional experiences, Özen presented examples of news stories written by AA reporters to the participants.
Explaining the main components and structure of a news story, Özen emphasized that agency journalism must be conducted objectively and impartially.
Chief Correspondent Bilen also gave a presentation on the criteria considered by the AA News Monitoring Desk when reviewing news content.
Bilen stated that the most common issues encountered in news writing are spelling and logical errors, emphasizing that the most important element of quality in news is “verification.”
He also warned that when writing a news story, it is essential to ensure that sources are not missing, factual and date errors are avoided, and that the visuals used align with the content of the news.
The program concluded with a Q&A session.
