In this program, designed to train reporters to cover wars, disasters, and states of emergency, participants receive training from the police and military personnel who are experts in their fields.

A total of 25 participants are taking part in the program, including 9 AA personnel and 16 participants from Laos, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea.

On the third day of the training, AA Türkiye News Director Hasan Ay gave a training session on “media management and broadcasting principles in emergency situations.”

Ay emphasized that the priority in news reporting during extraordinary situations is to verify information and convey it accurately, noting that the personal relationships reporters build during peaceful times provide significant assistance during crises.

The trainees then received training on “civil unrest,”“bulletproof equipment,” and “the use of gas masks” at the Gölbaşı facility, provided by personnel from the Provincial Police Department’s Riot Police Unit.

Participants were given hands-on training on how to respond to intervention tools such as high-pressure water, pepper spray, and smoke bombs, which they might encounter during social unrest.

As part of the training, candidates exposed to pepper spray were simultaneously sprayed with high-pressure water from a Public Disturbance Intervention Vehicle (TOMA).
