The "25th Term War Journalism Training" organized by Anadolu Agency (AA), the Police Academy, and TIKA, started with 25 participants, including 10 AA staff and 15 from different countries. The training aims to prepare correspondents for working in war, disaster, and emergency situations. A ceremony was held at AA's headquarters to mark the beginning of the new term. Yahya Bostan, AA Academy and Editorial Coordinator, highlighted that major conflicts affect not only armies but also civilians, children, women, and journalists.
Survival Skills for Journalists
Uğur Tanyeli, Head of TIKA's Department of Foreign Relations and Partnerships, provided the trainees with information about TIKA's activities.
Tanyeli stated that the Police Academy simulates highly realistic war and conflict environments during the training, aiming to equip journalists with survival skills through various specialized courses.
Deputy Head of the Police Academy, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ufuk Ayhan, stated that war drains countries, destroys their values, and noted that armies have evolved and are now transitioning to digitalization.
The training will last 12 days and include 26 different courses. Topics will range from journalism to personal safety, war law, first aid, advanced driving techniques, water survival, chemical and biological attacks, and media management in emergencies.
