During training held at the Anadolu Ajansı (AA) Headquarters, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ramazan Yıldızgörür, faculty member in the Department of Journalism at the Faculty of Communication at Yozgat Bozok University, discussed the role of AI prompts in journalism.
During the training, Yıldızgörür addressed topics such as prompt design for news production, the use of AI prompts in writing news headlines and leads, the use of prompts in preparing interview questions, writing effective prompts for news research, and the use of AI prompts in data and document analysis.

The training also covered topics such as the use of prompts in verification and fact-checking processes, prompt strategies for different types of news, prompt design for editorial language and style, reviewing and re-prompting AI outputs, ethical and editorial boundaries in prompt writing, and journalists’ prompt literacy.
Yıldızgörür noted that AI is a system that operates based on statistical patterns, explaining that clear, precise, and well-defined prompts play a decisive role in the quality of AI outputs.
Emphasizing the need to approach AI-generated outputs with a critical eye, Yıldızgörür noted the importance of maintaining editorial oversight throughout this process.
