Serdar Karagöz, President and Chief Executive Officer of Anadolu Ajansı (AA), made the opening speech of the training held at AA Workshop.
Karagöz thanked the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities for their contribution and support in the organization of the training.
Abdullah Eren, President of Turks Abroad and Related Communities, thanked AA and expressed his gratitude for hosting the event.
Stating that YTB has provided scholarships to 45 thousand students since 2011 within the scope of Türkiye Scholarships and hosted students from 182 countries, Eren reported that there are currently 15 thousand international students.
Drawing attention to the International Student Science Congress organized by YTB, which includes social sciences, science and health sciences branches, Eren stated that every year 250 students present their papers within this scope.
“NJ 101 received the highest satisfaction from students”
Eren said that students participating in AA's training will learn in great detail how accurate information, accurate news is produced and disseminated, and how manipulations, lies and misinformation are marketed under the guise of truth, and stressed that a satisfaction survey was conducted with students after the NJ 101 training held in December last year and that this program received the highest satisfaction.
Eren pointed out that the students who participated in the training this year came from 15 different countries, and that although they place great importance on the academic success of the students, the biggest contribution of this program is “unity of heart”.
Training program
“NJ 101” aims to enhance the media competencies of international students with Türkiye scholarship, improve their familiarity with Turkish media, reinforce their media literacy skills and provide them with basic skills in visual communication and media techniques.
In line with these goals, students will be offered basic training covering various aspects of the media industry. The training is expected to provide participants with a better understanding of the Turkish media environment and improve their ability to analyze and evaluate media messages and their professional skills.
The NJ 101 program will provide international students with basic knowledge in the media and communication sectors, giving them the opportunity to shape their careers and make global connections across cultural boundaries. The program is planned to consist of theoretical trainings, hands-on workshops, interactive sessions and project-based applications.
During the 4-day training, AA reporters will provide news writing techniques, effective communication and oratory rules, use of artificial intelligence in media, media simulations, effective use of digital media, basic video shooting techniques, live broadcast and announcement, basic photography techniques, cyber security, infographics, interview techniques and directing training.
