-Deals worth $40 billion signed in St. Petersburg
Staged for nearly 20 years, St. Petersburg International Economic Forum was the scene of great interest for Russia and the international audience in attendance.
Among the honorary guests of the forum, this year was French President Emmanuel Macron and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. International Monetary Fund (IMF) President Christine Lagarde and the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Secretary General Mohammad Barkindo were also among the leading names that attended the forum.
Approximately 17 thousand people from 143 countries participated in the forum, signing 550 contracts worth nearly $40 billion throughout the three-day event.
-Turkey and Russia agree on natural gas
Gazprom stated that a protocol for the construction of the second line of the onshore phase of the TurkStream gas pipeline project was signed with officials from the Turkish government.
In addition, an agreement was signed between Gazprom and Turkey’s BOTAS to determine the conditions for building the line. In accordance with the agreement, a joint venture, TurkAkim Gaz Tasima AS, will be established for the construction of the onshore part of the line.
Gazprom also announced that BOTAS and Gazprom Export signed documents relating to an out-of-court settlement on the dispute of the price of Russian natural gas supplied to Turkish consumers, with the termination of the arbitration process set for the near future.
