Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council will meet in Luxemburg on Monday to discuss the clean energy package. The Council will adopt a general approach on the recast regulation on ACER - the EU agency for the cooperation of energy regulators. The EU presidency will debrief energy ministers on progress in negotiations on three legislative proposals under the clean energy package, the regulation on governance of the Energy Union, the directive on renewable energy and the directive on energy efficiency. The Council and the European Parliament are currently in negotiations for these initiatives.
On Tuesday, the European Parliament’s plenary session will take place in Strasbourg where European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker will address participants on the Commission’s preparations for the June European Council.

MEPs are set to back new rules for drones and drone operators to ensure safety, security, privacy and the protection of personal data in a vote on Tuesday. Design and manufacture of drones will have to comply with EU basic requirements and operators of drones with capabilities of potentially causing harm to humans on collision will need to be registered.

The European Parliament should shrink from 751 to 705 MEPs when the U.K. leaves the EU, says a draft law to be put to the vote on Wednesday. Forty-six of the 73 U.K. seats will be put in reserve, and the other 27 will be distributed among the 14 EU countries that are currently slightly under-represented in the House.
