The new European Travel Information and Authorization System () to pre-screen visa-exempt travelers from about 60 non-EU countries will be up for a final vote on Thursday. The new proposes from 2021 onwards that non-EU nationals exempt from visa requirements will have to obtain authorization before entering the EU. Travelers who are considered a security risk or those with irregular migration or high epidemic risks could be denied access.
Parliament will adopt its position on next year's EU budget prior to negotiations with member states on Thursday. MEPs want the EU budget to focus on young people, migration, growth, innovation, competitiveness, security, fighting climate change and switching to renewable energy.
