Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Project Management Institute (PMI) to strengthen project management capabilities and support workforce development across country's energy sector, the company announced on Sunday.
The agreement was signed by NOC Chairman Masoud Suleman and PMI Middle East and North Africa Regional Director Hani Al-Shazly, according to NOC's statement.
Partnership covers training, capacity building and adoption of international project management standards and methodologies aimed at improving management of programs and investment portfolios.
Initiative will provide NOC employees with access to professional certifications and internationally recognized training programs while supporting development of local talent through training activities in Libya.
NOC Chairman Suleman, praised this strategic collaboration, noting that it is the first initiative undertaken by the NOC's Technical and Administrative Development Center, part of the General Department of Training, since its establishment.
He emphasized the NOC's ongoing commitment to developing its human resources and providing them with the knowledge and digital tools needed to improve the effectiveness of strategic project implementation and achieve operational excellence across the sector.
For his part, PMI Regional Director Al-Shazly said the Institute is proud to partner with the NOC to strengthen its institutional capabilities and build a sustainable foundation of expertise.
He added that this will help improve outcomes for key projects that support economic development in Libya.
