Türkiye's energy import bill decreased by 8.9% to $4.83 billion in August, compared to the same month last year, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Tuesday.
The country's energy import bill totaled $5.3 billion last August.
The data shows that the overall import bill for the month, including energy and other items, totaled $25.93 billion.
At $4.83 billion, energy accounted for 18.6% of the overall import figures in Türkiye in August.
Crude oil imports saw an 8.6% increase to 2.87 million tons in August, compared to 2.64 million tons in August 2024.
