Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.7% to 746,095 megawatt-hours on Thursday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 35,046 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,481 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 740,126 megawatt-hours on Thursday with a 1.58% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 214,793 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and run-of-river hydroelectricity plants followed with 139,367 megawatt-hours and 103,589 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 14,809 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 8,840 megawatt-hours.
