Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 5.82% to 632,563 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 31,746 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 21,426 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 628,031 megawatt-hours on Sunday with a 6.17% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 187,990 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and run-of-river plants followed with 90,564 megawatt-hours and 119,054 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,585 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 9,117 megawatt-hours.
