Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased on Saturday by 5.09% compared to the previous day to reach 875,695 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 40,700 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,323 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 875,640 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 5.30% decrease compared to the previous day.
While electricity production from natural gas constituted 29.03% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Saturday, imported coal plants held a 23.45% share while hydroelectricity power plants comprised 13.93%.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 3,425 megawatt-hours while imports reached 3,480 megawatt-hours.
