A suicide car bomb attack in the northwestern Libya city of Misrata killed three people and injured seven others in the early hours of Sunday, security sources said.
Twitter accounts close to Daesh said the militant group claimed responsibility for the attack and named the bomber as Abu Wahib Al-Tunsi.
The attack targeted a checkpoint in the town of Dafniya, just outside Misrata. The checkpoint was completely destroyed, Anadolu Agency’s correspondent said.
“[The attack] led to the immediate deaths of three security members, in addition to injuring seven others whose conditions vary from medium to severe,” Alhady Hameeda, a member of the city’s security directorate, told Anadolu Agency.
Last week, a suicide bomber killed two people and injured three others at another checkpoint in southern Misrata.
