This year's second quarter sales of Russian iron and steel company MMK increased by 0.7 percent to 2.848 million tonnes compared to this year's first quarter, the company said on Tuesday.
MMK said sales mainly consisted of crude steel and pig iron.
More than 80 percent of the sales were to Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, such as Belarus and Azerbaijan.
"Currently, the company’s management sees sustainable demand for its products from domestic customers, which together with the completion of scheduled maintenance and equipment modernization should lead to an increase in finished products sales in the third quarter of 2018," the company said, adding that it expects stabilization in steel prices on export markets to support domestic prices.
