Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye decreased by 2.24% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 889,889 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,052 megawatt-hours at 14.00 local time (1100 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 27,315 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 869,882 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 2.2% decrease compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 21.7% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 21% while hydro plants comprised 16.2%.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 11,305 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 11,458 megawatt-hours.
