Turkey's daily electricity consumption fell by 3.9% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 828,335 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 38,730 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,244 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 828,464 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 4.3% drop from Friday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 44.5% of total electricity consumption and lignite plants contributed 14% while hydroelectricity plants comprised 9.3%.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 18,099 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 18,336 megawatt-hours.
