Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 4.81% to 791,805 megawatt-hours on Saturday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time with 37,445 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed.The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 28,380 megawatt-hours at 05.00.
Total electricity production reached 780,940 megawatt-hours on Saturday, with a 5.44% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of output came from imported coal plants totaling 195,376 megawatt-hours.
Natural gas and lignite plants followed with 172,423 megawatt-hours and 135,405 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 1,931 megawatt-hours while imports totaled 12,886 megawatt-hours.
