Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.74% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 931,356 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,766 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,140 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 934,222 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 1.6% decrease compared to Thursday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 34.9% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 20.7% while lignite plants comprised 13.1%.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 14,646 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 12,038 megawatt-hours.
