Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 14.36% to 663,849 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 32,958 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 24,018 megawatt-hours at 09.00
Total electricity production reached 663,849 megawatt-hours on Sunday with a 11.8% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 175,265 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and lignite plants followed with 131,975 megawatt-hours and 99,017 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,712 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 7,289 megawatt-hours.
