Turkey should adapt itself for the developing automotive industry for protecting its exports worth $30 billion and competitiveness in this field, the Turkish industry and technology minister said on Monday.
"The automotive industry is undergoing a major transformation, especially with the electric cars, there are the great winds of change and transformation in both the supplier industry and the key industry," Mustafa Varank said in the country's industrial province of Kocaeli.
Mentioning the country's first electric car project, TOGG, he said it was a signal flare for the country in the developing automotive industry.
Established in 2018, TOGG, the firm, introduced the first electric vehicle prototype in December 2019, which is expected to roll out in 2022 for the market.
