Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 8.87% to 745,467 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 36,197 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 27,379 megawatt-hours at 05.00.
Total electricity production reached 748,167 megawatt-hours on Sunday with a 8.92% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from natural gas plants with 210,858 megawatt-hours.
Imported coal plants and hydroelectricity followed with 208,200 megawatt-hours and 96,337 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 7,658 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 4,958 megawatt-hours.
