The TGC announced the winners of its Türkiye Journalism Awards, which have been held since 1959. This year, 48 awards and honorable mentions and 2 special prizes were presented.
Anadolu’s Greenline reporter Yeter Ada Seko received the award for her story titled “Climate grief of farmers hit by agricultural frost," published on July 23, 2025. The story examined the psychological impact of an agricultural frost that affected more than 30 cities across Türkiye the previous year.
Reported through interviews with farmers in the Doganyol district of Malatya, the story went beyond the financial dimensions of the losses to document the emotional and mental toll on those affected, introducing the concept of "climate grief."
The story highlighted the particular vulnerability of farmers as one of the groups most severely affected by climate change.
