China has suspended the implementation of a clause it announced in December last year governing the export of dual-use items to the US, the Ministry of Commerce said on Sunday.
The suspension of the second clause of the December 2024 announcement is effective from Sunday until November 27, 2026, according to a ministry statement.
Beijing had previously prohibited exports of dual-use items to the US, including gallium, germanium, antimony, and superhard materials.
In a Dec. 3, 2024, notice issued under the Export Control Law, China announced that it would prohibit exports of dual-use items to US military users or for military purposes, as well as refuse licenses for certain items and impose stricter export controls.
Sunday's statement upheld the ban on military-related exports to the US while temporarily suspending the licensing and review restrictions.
It also warned that any entity or individual who violated these rules by transferring dual-use items from China to the US would face legal consequences.
