ANKARA

Türkiye's foreign minister had separate phone calls with his Egyptian, Norwegian, Pakistani, and Saudi counterparts on the ongoing Iran conflict, Turkish diplomatic sources said Monday.

Hakan Fidan’s conversations with Egypt's Badr Abdelatty, Norway's Espen Barth Eide, and Saudi Arabia’s Faisal bin Farhan focused on efforts to stop the war, the sources said.

In another phone call, with Pakistan's Ishaq Dar, the two foreign ministers exchanged views on the latest situation in the war, the sources added.

Regional escalation has continued since the US and Israel launched a joint offensive on Iran on Feb. 28, so far killing over 1,300 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, along with Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while disrupting global markets and aviation.
