MOSCOW
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia on Wednesday of preparing an operation against Ukraine's water supply systems.
Following a meeting on all regions that have come under Russian strikes in Kyiv, Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram that all regional authorities must seriously approach the protection of relevant facilities.
"We also know that the Russians are preparing an operation against water supply systems in the coming months. In every community, there must be a serious attitude, an absolutely responsible attitude toward the protection of the relevant facilities," he said.
In a separate statement, he said the US will provide security guarantees to Ukraine only if Kyiv withdraws troops from Donbas.
"The Americans are ready to finally finalize these guarantees at a high level as soon as Ukraine is ready to withdraw its troops from Donbas," said Zelenskyy.
