Russia claims to have captured another village in Ukraine

Russian Defense Ministry claims Berezove in Dnipropetrovsk region went under Russia's control

MOSCOW

Russia claimed on Saturday that its forces had captured the settlement of Berezove in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region.

The village was captured by units of the Vostok (East) group of forces, Russia’s Defense Ministry said in a statement.

"During the assault, artillery units together with drone operators carried out fire strikes against enemy strongpoints, destroying military equipment and personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Assault groups, having consolidated in the village, cleared trenches, buildings, basements, and adjacent forest belts," it said

Ukraine has yet to comment on Russia's claims, with independent verification challenging due to the ongoing conflict, which began in February 2022.
