More than 30 rockets fired from Lebanon at northern Israel

Sirens sounded in Haifa, Nahariya, areas in northern Israel amid heavy barrage, says Israel’s Channel 12

JERUSALEM

More than 30 rockets were launched from southern Lebanon toward the northern Israeli city of Haifa and the Krayot area within minutes, Israel’s Channel 12 reported Thursday.

It said shrapnel fell in several locations, with no immediate reports of direct injuries.

Sirens sounded in Haifa, Nahariya and other areas in northern Israel amid the heavy barrage, while loud explosions were heard in the skies above Haifa following interception attempts, it added.

Israel’s emergency service, Magen David Adom, said no injuries were recorded from the rocket fire, noting that its teams treated cases of panic and minor injuries sustained while people rushed to shelters.
