The Israeli army launched a fresh wave of airstrikes on multiple areas in southern and eastern Lebanon on Monday, in the latest violation of a ceasefire agreement.

Fighter jets hit the towns of Mahmoudiyeh, Jabal al-Rafi‘, and Jarmaq in Nabatieh, the state news agency NNA reported. Similar strikes targeted al-Qatrani, Barghaz, and al-Rihan in the same district.

In eastern Lebanon, Israeli warplanes carried out two airstrikes along the eastern mountain range in the Baalbek district, NNA said.

An Israeli drone also struck a small truck in Hermel, without causing injuries, amid intense drone activity over the city, according to the agency.

NNA said Israeli drones flew heavily and at low altitude over villages and towns northeast of Tyre, particularly along both banks of the Litani River between Qasmiyeh and Tair Falsayeh.

Another Israeli drone targeted an open area in al-Dhuhur, near the town of al-Hamiri in Tyre. No injuries were reported.

The Israeli army claimed that one of the strikes targeted a Hezbollah site allegedly used to fire rockets toward Israel.

There was no comment from Hezbollah on the claim.

Tensions have been mounting in southern Lebanon for weeks, with the Israeli army intensifying near-daily air raids inside Lebanese territory on claims of targeting Hezbollah members and infrastructure.

The Israeli army has killed more than 4,000 people and injured nearly 17,000 in its attacks on Lebanon, which began in October 2023 and turned into a full-scale offensive in September 2024.
