ISTANBUL
Israel said Friday that 5,492 injured individuals have been evacuated to hospitals since the start of the war with Iran on Feb. 28, according to an official update.
As of 7 am (0400GMT) on Friday, 116 people remain hospitalized, including one in critical condition and 16 in severe condition, Israel’s Health Ministry said on the US social media platform X.
The ministry said 24 patients are in moderate condition, 74 have minor injuries, and one is undergoing medical assessment.
Israel maintains strict limits on information about the impact of Iranian retaliatory attacks and strikes by Hezbollah, with the military imposing tight media controls and warnings against publishing footage of damage or revealing targeted locations.
The US and Israel have carried out an air offensive on Iran since Feb. 28, so far killing over 1,340 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, along with Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while disrupting global markets and aviation.
