Israel claims it hit ballistic missile warehouse in Iran

Israeli army also claims it struck weapons research, development sites in Iran amid ongoing war

ISTANBUL

Israel claimed on Saturday that it struck a ballistic missile warehouse and weapons research and development sites in Iran amid the ongoing escalation.

In a statement through US social media company X, the army claimed it also hit "an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) air defense site where missiles intended to target aircraft were stored."

Regional tensions have escalated since the US and Israel launched a joint offensive on Iran on Feb. 28, killing more than 1,340 people to date, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
