Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeted the data center and information infrastructure of US company Oracle in the United Arab Emirates, the state-run IRNA news agency reported, but Dubai authorities denied the claim.
According to IRNA, the Revolutionary Guard said the Oracle facility in the UAE was targeted in retaliation for the attack on former Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi and his wife.
The report came after Iranian media said Kharrazi was seriously injured and his wife was killed in a US-Israeli strike on their home in Tehran on April 1.
Dubai denied the report.
In a statement posted Friday on US social media company X, the Dubai Media Office said the circulating reports were “fabricated and incorrect.”
The region has been on alert since the US and Israel launched an air offensive on Feb. 28, so far killing over 1,340 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, along with Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while disrupting global markets and aviation.
