Behnam Rezaei, deputy chief of naval intelligence of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was killed in a US-Israeli attack, Iranian media reported.
His death comes amid escalating hostilities following strikes launched by the US and Israel on Feb. 28, which have killed more than 1,340 people, including senior officials and Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Iran has responded with drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq and several Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to global markets and aviation.
