No casualties have been reported as of yet.
The Assembly of Experts, an influential body of jurists and clerics, is tasked with selecting Iran’s highest political and religious authority.
Iran on Sunday confirmed the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several top officials in Israeli and US attacks on the country.
Tension escalated across the region when the US and Israel launched a large-scale attack on Iran on Saturday, killing nearly 800 people.
Tehran has responded with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel as well as Gulf countries which are home to US assets.
